Google Contacts.. Instead of having to go through WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, and other apps to discover your friends and colleagues, you can use the Google Contacts app as your central location to communicate and contact them. With each contact page detailing every action that can be taken with each app (message, phone, video call), the UI may become a little confusing. A new top-level menu that only displays the services you and a specific contact are linked to is altering this.
The shift is really as easy as it gets. Instead of listing every method you might possibly use to get in touch with a certain someone, it will just display the services they are now using, with a chevron signifying that you have more possibilities when you tap. You won’t be able to chat, phone, or video call someone on WhatsApp, for example, until you complete this step.
With Google Contacts version 4.26, some users have begun to get the updated appearance, which AssembleDebug first noticed. We can confirm that it’s already accessible to us, but as with any Google server-side deployment, there’s no guarantee you’ll see the design change immediately on your device, so it could take some time.
This modification has one unfavorable side effect, even though it may seem much cleaner than listing each and every activity. In order to message someone on a messaging service, you will now need to touch the service and then choose the desired choice, which will take two taps. With a single touch in the past, you could enter phone calls and join chats.
A far larger revamp of Google Contacts is imminent
Recently, a brand-new, hambuger-less interface was seen being developed.
An even larger overall is being planned for Google Contacts’ app. The hamburger menu was eliminated in a revamp that was still in development, as AssembleDebug disclosed back in February. A new widget has also been added that facilitates phone calls and talks with your favorite contacts. The updated messaging service integration may be a clue that the makeover is on the way, even if it could still take some time to appear in production.
