Summary
Because Netflix is saying farewell to a number of notable films at the end of March, there isn’t much time left to see certain flicks on the service. The removal of DC flicks is a major change to the service. After March 31, Wonder Woman, Batman, Justice League, Suicide Squad, and Man of Steel will all be leaving the building.
5-Movies You Absolutely Must Watch
Not all of them are superhero flicks. We compiled a list of five movies for them to see before their March departure. Here you may find a horrifying Stephen King adaption, a musical comedy from the 1980s, and a well-known romantic comedy from the 1990s, all directed by an icon of the genre.
My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997)
There is a near-certainty that any romantic comedy starring Julia Roberts will be enjoyable. During her god-tier rom-com run in the ’90s, Roberts featured in My Best Friend’s Wedding, in which she played a lady who plotted to ruin a marriage. Michael O’Neal (Dermot Mulroney) and Jules Potter (Roberts) agreed to tie the knot if they were both unmarried by the time they were 28. Just four days before Jules’s 28th birthday, she finds out that Michael is going to marry Kimmy Wallace, a stunning 20-year-old whose father owns the Chicago White Sox. Kimmy is played by Cameron Diaz.
Jules goes to Chicago to sabotage the wedding after realizing her love for Michael. She plans to make Michael envious by having her homosexual friend George Downes (Rupert Everett) pose as her fiancé. That serves only to set the stage for George’s performance of “Say a Little Prayer,” the high point of the film. My Best Friend’s Wedding definitely has its fair share of endearing moments.
My Best Friend’s Wedding is available to watch on Netflix.
Beverly Hills Cop (1984)
Eddie Murphy was the biggest celebrity in Hollywood from 1982 and 1988. The energetic comic first gained fame at the turn of the century on Saturday Night Live, and then he moved into cinema with the successes 48 Hours and Trading Places. But it was 1984’s Beverly Hills Cop that catapulted Murphy to superstardom and helped propel the picture to second place in box office receipts, behind only Ghostbusters.
Police officer Axel Foley (Murphy), who lost a comrade in a shooting, travels to Hollywood in search of justice. Axel finds himself in the sights of Beverly Hills Police Department Lieutenant Andrew Bogomil due to his very unconventional approach. Axel is unfazed by the lack of assistance and eventually tracks down art gallery owner and drug lord Victor Maitland (Steven Berkoff). Axel has to use his charm and come to the rescue now. Despite the fact that Beverly Hills Cop is departing from Netflix, the fourth installment of the series, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, will debut on the streaming service this summer.
Hollywood Cop is available to stream on Netflix.
The Blues Brothers (1980)
In SNL history, whose duos performed best? I can think of a few pairings right away: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, Chris Farley and David Spade, and Mike Myers and Dana Carvey. But any discussion of the finest Saturday Night Live duos must include Dan Aykroyd and the late John Belushi. The Blues Brothers, a musical act featuring ‘Joliet’ Jake (Belushi) and his brother Elwood (Aykroyd), was one of the finest skits that Belushi and Aykroyd did.
Classic John Landis film The Blues Brothers, set in 1980, was inspired by the comedy. Once Jake is out of jail, he sees Elwood again, and the two of them set off on a divine mission to rescue the orphanage where Jake spent his childhood by collecting $5,000. In order to raise the necessary funds, the brothers decide to reunite the band and stage a performance. The Blues Brothers is an entertaining film from beginning to end, thanks to its catchy music and exciting police chases.

It (2017)
Go on to the next item if clowns aren’t your thing. At the very least, turn it on if you’re in the mood for a spine-tingling horror flick. In 1989, Bill Skarsgård plays Pennywise the Dancing Clown, who has a spectral presence in the town of Derry, Maine. Pennywise emerges from the sewer and preys on naive children once every twenty-seven years. Pennywise goes for Jaeden Martell’s 12-year-old character, Bill Denbrough, who is out for vengeance after his younger brother was murdered by the clown a year ago.
In order to combat Pennywise, Bill gathers a misfit gang of children who call themselves “The Losers’ Club.” Although it was a huge task, Skarsgård’s Pennywise is just as effective, if not better than, Tim Curry’s Pennywise. An exciting and well performed version of King’s book.

Wonder Woman (2017)
With Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom out of the way, I can declare without reservation that Wonder Woman was the DCEU’s finest film. The beautiful and honorable Amazonian princess Diana Prince, played by Gal Gadot, has extraordinary agility, knowledge, and strength. After crashing off the Amazons’ island, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) tells Diana that there’s a global battle going on. Following Steve to London, Diana thinks she can put a stop to the conflict as she believes Ares is to blame for the war.
On the battlefield, Diana discovers she is Wonder Woman, her ultimate destiny. Gadot may have donned the Wonder Woman costume for a last time to conclude the trilogy if the epidemic hadn’t occurred. Unfortunately, let’s rewatch “No Man’s Land,” a highlight of 2017, and enjoy the DCEU’s finest work.
