Summary
purchasing the iPhone 15 Pro rather than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.. Every year, Apple introduces a number of iPhones, giving consumers a variety of options to choose from in terms of size and capabilities. There will be four different versions available in the iPhone 15 range in 2024.
People who do not need a telephoto lens, do not care about the Action button, and do not want 1 terabyte of storage space will find that the normal iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus are excellent options. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are available for anybody who wants a more “professional” experience.
purchasing the iPhone 15 Pro rather than the iPhone 15 Pro Max
The thought that could be going through your head is, “Well, if I want the best iPhone 15 model, I should just get the iPhone 15 Pro Max.” Although the iPhone 15 model is regarded as the “top-tier” model, it is not suitable for everyone. Here are some of the reasons why you should think about purchasing the iPhone 15 Pro instead.
Huge mobile devices are not to everyone’s liking
At least on the surface, the size difference between the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the most significant difference between the two variants. The iPhone 15 Pro only has a display that is 6.1 inches in size; however, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a display that is around 6.7 inches in size.
Super Retina XDR OLED panels with ProMotion 120Hz refresh rates are both included in this pair of displays. Additionally, they have technology that is constantly on, but you have the option to turn it off if you so desire.
Now, why would you choose the more compact iPhone 15 Pro? However, despite the fact that it seems that everyone is purchasing enormous mobile phones, it is almost impossible to operate them with one hand, particularly if you have tiny hands.
Due to the fact that my hands are quite small, I already have difficulty doing tasks that require me to utilize huge Android phones for work; I very much always have to use both hands. With my iPhone 15 Pro, I am able to operate it with one hand without too much difficulty, despite the fact that it is still bigger than I would want it to be. Having a MagSafe PopSocket is really helpful in this regard.
Looking for yet more arguments in favor of smaller sizes? Pockets and backpacks are able to accommodate the iPhone 15 Pro with more ease. When it comes to finding clothes that have pockets, it is already difficult enough for a woman to locate them, and when there are pockets, they are often quite tiny and scarcely functional. Additionally, the inside compartments and pockets of bags may be a touch on the thin side, which makes it difficult to carry a really big phone. This is an issue that I also have with purses. It is possible for me to just throw it into the enormous main compartment, but I also keep my keys in that compartment, and I do not want to harm my phone.
When it comes to my tiny group of friends and family members, I am almost always the only one who receives the smaller phone. On a regular basis, people ask me why I didn’t go with the bigger option. Despite the fact that it is a nuisance, I usually respond with the same answer: I just appreciate having a phone that is smaller, easier to use, and simpler to take care of.
There is no genuine necessity for you to have the 5x zoom camera
Over the course of the last several years, Apple has brought the cameras of the normal iPhone Pro to the same level as those of the iPhone Pro Max. However, this changed with the release of the iPhone 15 Pro. The new tetraprism telephoto lens that is capable of performing 5x optical zoom is exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, whereas the ordinary iPhone 15 Pro only has the capability to do 3x optical zoom. The size of the iPhone 16 Pro is the reason for this, but it seems that the device will be somewhat bigger than its predecessor this year, which will allow it to accommodate a more powerful telephoto lens.
Despite my initial irritation with this change, I haven’t found that it has bothered me all that much. Despite the fact that I shoot a lot of photographs on a daily basis, I don’t regularly find myself in circumstances where I need to zoom in that much. I simply don’t use the telephoto lens very frequently, with the exception of when I’m trying to get a picture of a nice animal that’s out in the distance.
If you go to a lot of concerts or performances, having a camera with a 5x optical zoom would probably be beneficial, but I don’t really attend a lot of concerts or shows these days. And it’s not like zooming in beyond the 3x optical zoom on the iPhone 15 Pro is a terrible thing; even if it’s digital zoom quality, the majority of the information is still there, and it’s very clear. This is particularly true if you’re simply posting the image on social media. During our evaluation of the photography capabilities of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, we put this to the test, and the findings were rather surprising. Although it is theoretically superior, the 5x zoom is hardly a significant improvement over the previous zoom.
It is a little bit less expensive
On the whole, I am the sort of person who would rather have the maximum amount of storage space available to her. By doing so, I will never have to be concerned about the possibility of running out of room.
When I purchased my iPhone 15 Pro, I went with the 1TB model, which has a retail price of $1,499 (this does not include taxes). In the event that I were to purchase the iPhone 15 Pro Max with a storage capacity of 1 terabyte, the price would increase to $999.
Perhaps it does not seem to be a significant change, right? If you are already going to spend that much, is it really anything to be concerned about if there is an additional $100? In response to it, I would respond that every cent is important. In light of the fact that I am already content with the dimensions and capabilities of the camera, the fact that I can save a small bit of money is simply the cherry on top.
More diminutive but yet powerful
I get the impression that there is less of a preference for compact phones in today’s society; nonetheless, I find that I greatly like them since they are simpler for me to operate. It is true that having a 5x optical telephoto lens would be wonderful, but it is not a must since the ordinary iPhone 15 Pro is still capable of taking darn fantastic photographs.
Aside from that, you will still get the A17 Pro chip, a Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion, the Dynamic Island, the Action button, and USB-C charging, all of which are included in the package, although at a slightly reduced cost. The battery life is, of course, a little bit shorter as well; however, this is an issue that can be readily resolved by using a portable power bank (the Anker Nano 30W is the one that I usually use as my daily driver).
Although the iPhone 15 Pro Max is an excellent option for some individuals, the iPhone 15 Pro, which is a more compact model, is the better option for everyone else.
