Share your images, movies, and other forms of material with your friends and family on Facebook. It is an excellent platform for it. On the other hand, what if you want to download a video instead of watching it online? This indicates that you would be able to view the video on your own computer or mobile device, eliminating the need that you be connected to the internet. The good news is that it is possible to download movies from Facebook to the devices you use on a daily basis, but the procedure is not as simple as it might be.
Do not be concerned, however! Our colleagues at Digital Trends are here to assist you in any way they can. This is the process by which you may download a movie from Facebook to your own computer, mobile device, or tablet.
How to download a video from Facebook using a desktop app
To be able to download a video from Facebook, you will most likely want the assistance of a video downloader program that is provided by a third party. When it comes to downloading videos, 4K Video Downloader is absolutely one of our faves. It does not cost anything and is simple to use. In order to get started, all you need is the URL of the video that you want to watch.
The first thing you need to do is visit the website for 4K Video Downloader and then download the application by clicking on the green icon that says “Get 4K Video Downloader.” Install it after that.
In the second step, when you have successfully installed 4K Video Downloader, go to Facebook.com and locate the video that you want to download. Following that, choose Share > Copy Link.
Step 3: Launch the 4K Video Downloader application and choose the Paste Link button, which is a green and white icon located in the upper-left corner of the screen.
The fourth step is to pick the video quality that you would want your download to have, as well as any other choices that you would like to have, from the dialog box that appears. Once you are ready, click the Download button.
Step 5: Once the movie has been successfully downloaded, a thumbnail of the film will display in the center of the main screen of the 4K Movie Downloader application. Once you move your mouse over this thumbnail, you will notice that two icons will appear on the far right side of the screen. Choose the symbol that looks like three vertical dots.
In the sixth step, choose Show in Folder from the pop-up choice that was shown to you. Using this method, you will be led straight to the location of the video that you have just downloaded. After then, you have the option of playing it on your own computer or moving it to a different place.
Alternate approaches to things
We would like to refer to this method as the “mbasic” approach. It is an additional method for downloading movies from Facebook to your own computer or mobile device. To put it simply, you are going to mislead your Windows, Mac, or Android device (this method does not work for iPhones) into believing that you are viewing a Facebook video on a video website that is specialized for mobile devices.
By doing so, you will be able to download the video you just uploaded to Facebook directly from this backdoor mobile website. In this manner:
First, go to the Facebook video that you want to save and click on it. Following that, choose Share > Copy Link.
The second step is to open a new tab and then paste the link into the search bar for the URL. The complete URL may be seen by pressing the Enter key while the URL is highlighted. If the URL was abbreviated to “fb.watch,” the full URL will be shown.
The third step is to put “mbasic” in lieu of the “www.” extension, and then press the Enter key.
Step 4: Do you find that things are starting to appear a bit strange? The reason for this is because you are seeing a mobile version of Facebook, which is not the Facebook mobile app. At this point, choose the video that you want to download and click the Play button. Right-click on it, and then choose the option to “Open in a new tab” if it does not open in a new tab.
Click the Save video as button after right-clicking the video in the fifth step. Simply choose a spot on your own computer or other device.
A word of caution is in order
When it comes to downloading videos from Facebook, you are always at the mercy of any copyrights a content producer has set in place over the films. If the person who uploaded the file has a positive attitude about offline downloading, you will be in a good position overall. However, there are not going to be many authors who are going to want you to download their Facebook uploads.
When it comes down to it, you should always exercise extreme caution if you are ripping any sort of material into your own computer or mobile device, whether you are doing it using third-party software or other backdoor techniques.
