Available on both Android and Wear OS smartwatches, Google Wallet is a single software that serves as a secure digital wallet for bank cards, memberships, and passes. One of the many reasons the wallet app is our favorite is that Google consistently works to make it more compatible with different banks so that payments can be made conveniently. December saw the addition of 44 institutions to the list, and in January 2024, 42 more banks signed on to accept Google Wallet.
Over 3,000 of the roughly 5,000 banks in the US have formed collaborations with app developers since Google Wallet was first introduced as Google Pay. You may use the Google Wallet app to conveniently use the cards provided by partner banks thanks to these relationships. Naturally, the majority of the nation’s main banks are already supported, but these are the most recent additions:

How do I use Google Wallet?
Yes, there are a total of 42 new entries to the list, but don’t panic if your card issuer isn’t included. It’s likely that Google Wallet already supports the bank. The Google Wallet support page provides a comprehensive list of banks and card issuers that the firm supports. Even if the bank is on the list, there are occasional exclusions where some cards aren’t accepted. Google notes these deviations in a useful manner.
Is Google Wallet same as Google Pay?
Google Wallet offers other handy features like the ability to link your state-issued IDs, gym memberships, and club loyalty cards to the app for easy access across devices—even if you still want to make purchases with actual cards. Just remember that Google Pay is running out of steam, so be sure you switch to Google Wallet before June.
