Samsung Pass ..There are a ton of password management applications available on the internet these days. Owners of Samsung Galaxy devices may, however, complete this job using Samsung Pass, a first-party option. Nevertheless, Pass was somewhat neglected once Samsung Wallet was released, which combined the features of Samsung Pass with Samsung Pay. Many people still use Pass as their password manager on their Galaxy handsets in spite of this update. However, it seems that things aren’t going as planned; according to many user accounts, the Pass app isn’t allowing users to enter.
Samsung Pass missing fingerprint scanning
When attempting to use Samsung Pass on the Galaxy S22+ and S23+, Reddit user kenJeKenny (via SamMobile) reports that the program opens on a blank screen without displaying the pop-up for fingerprint authentication. Users using Samsung Pass must utilize biometric information, such their fingerprint or iris, to secure their account. Therefore, when a problem like this appears, it may be rather annoying since it essentially prevents users from accessing their passwords or other data that is saved in the program. The user claims to be able to see the wording, “Scan your fingerprint to verify your identity,” even though there isn’t a space for them to submit their fingerprint.
A quick scroll through the same Reddit post reveals that several others are talking about the fault, and at least one of them is also having problems using Samsung Pass on a Galaxy tablet. Though as of right now, it’s only a speculation, there are a few suggestions in the discussion about how this may be connected to the outages that Meta and other Google services saw this week.
Some users reported that rebooting the device worked well as a possible remedy. The original poster claims, nevertheless, that they have tried clearing the cache, verifying all permissions, and even restarting the device, but to no effect. Meanwhile, others claim that restarting the device resolved their problem. On the other hand, SamMobile claims that they were unable to reproduce this specific fault on their Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Ultra, and Galaxy S24.
Though we don’t believe the manufacturer will be able to remain silent for long if the number of complaints increases, Samsung hasn’t commented on this specific problem. SamMobile points out that there is a history of instability with the Samsung Pass app, with reports of the program freezing on the loading screen or crashing the network connection.
