Summary
Blue Pure 511 review.. The Blueair Blue Pure 511 cleans the air up to 180 feet² and uses HEPASilentTM technology to get rid of at least 99.97% of particles in the air that are less than 0.1 microns in size. It’s the smallest air filter Blueair has ever made and the newest addition to their line. However, Blueair says that the Blue Pure 511 can clean 180 square feet of room in an amazing 12.5 minutes. With its powerful cleaning power, it can quickly and thoroughly clean up to 432 square feet, making sure that you can enjoy clean, fresh air throughout your living space.
This air cleaner has a sleek and modern look, and you can choose from three washable pre-filters to match your home’s style. Larger flying bits like pet hair, dust, lint, and pollen are caught by these filters, which also make the main filter last longer.
Blue Pure 511 review
Blueair 511 uses little energy. It costs less to run and is better for the world because it has the Energy Star label. It also has the Quiet Mark, which means it makes little noise when it’s working. This is because it has a special HEPASilentTM filter that works with less air pressure and less power.
The Blue Pure 511 is small but strong, and the company that makes it says it’s perfect for schools, babies, and small home offices. After thinking about that, we put it to the test in our 150-square-foot home office. You can read about how we did on our tests.
After giving it 3.5 stars, we were happy with how well it cleaned the air, but it wasn’t quite good enough to make our lists of the best air purifiers and the best air purifiers for allergies.
BLUE PURE 511: HOW WE TESTED
The Blue Pure 511 says it can take in 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.1 microns. For our tests at home, we used a 150-square-foot home office to check out the Blue Pure 511. Before and after using the filter for 30 minutes, we checked the quality of the air around us. Then we took the same measures before and after setting incense cones on fire and burning matches.
Before and after running the air filter on the Everyday and Boost settings, we used an air particle meter to find tiny particles in the air that were between 0.3 and 10 microns in size. This helped us figure out how well Blue Pure 511 dealt with these bigger particles when there were a lot of them in the air.
BLUE PURE 511: FUNCTIONALITY
The Blue Pure 511 has some good features for a small air filter for beginners, especially for the price. These features are:
Design that can be changed:
It works in most places:
Control with one button:
Quiet while it works
Guarantee No Ozone Verified: The Blue Pure 511 has been thoroughly tried and proven to give off very little ozone gas when it works. Ozone is a chemical made up of three oxygen atoms. When it gets too high in the air, it can hurt people’s lungs and the environment.
BLUE PURE 511PUROXYGEN P500: DESIGN
The Blue Pure 511 is small and stylish, so it can go with almost any home decor. However, it can still be a conversation starter. The unit’s top is made of white matte plastic and has a pretty flower pattern cut out of it with a stamp. The power button and a setting light are in the middle. The unit’s lid clicks securely onto the bigger base, which has a clean cloth pre-filter that is held in place by a Velcro strip.
The fact that you can choose from three colors for the fabric screen makes it easy to make it fit any style. You can also choose not to use the cloth sleeve at all if you want to.
It’s also strong enough to sit on the floor but small enough to fit on a coffee table, side table, or even a desk.
BLUE PURE 511: PERFORMANCE
We tried the Blue Pure 511 at home by first looking at how it changed the quality of the air around us. We used an air particle meter to check the amount of particles in the air before and after the filter was used for 30 minutes in the Everyday fan mode. Then, we did the process again but this time using the highest Boost mode.
At first, the Everyday mode worked pretty well. After 30 minutes, the number of 0.3-micron particles dropped by 85.37%, but the number of 2.5-micron particles dropped only by 50%. If the air cleaner was left to run for longer, these effects would keep getting better.
But when the same atmospheric air test was done again in Boost mode, the results were much better. Within 30 minutes, the number of 0.3-micron particles dropped by 96.8% and the number of 2.5-micron particles dropped by 100%. We chose the Boost mode for the incense and match tests because we knew they would make a lot of extra particles that the Everyday mode might not be able to handle.
We checked the air quality after lighting three incense cones for more than 10 minutes in our home office with all the doors and windows closed. For 30 minutes, we used the Blue Pure 511 in Boost mode and then took another reading of the particles. It was amazing that it got rid of 97.8% of 0.3-micron particles, 94.7% of 2.5-micron particles, and 100% of 10-micron particles.
The next test was the match test. We lit and burned 10 matches to see how well the filter caught the particles it released. It got rid of 95.8% of 0.3-micron particles and 95.3% of 2.5-micron particles in just 30 minutes when it was in Boost mode. Also, all of the bigger, dangerous 10-micron particles were taken away.
Based on our tests, we thought the Blue Pure 511 did a great job, especially considering how small and cheap it was. If people want to get the best results, we think they should use their Blue Pure 511 in Boost mode for a short time and then switch it to Everyday mode.
BLUE PURE 511: THE GOOD
The Blue Pure 511 was very simple to set up and use, which we really liked. It was nice to use something simple and easy to use after trying dozens of air filters that needed WiFi, app downloads, and a lot of different settings and fan speeds. You don’t have to worry about making plans or using voice control. For Night mode, press the power button once. For Everyday mode, press it twice, and for Boost mode, press it three times.
We also liked how small and light it was, which makes it easy to move from room to room when needed. Also, the Night setting is very quiet, so if you use it in your bedroom, it won’t wake you up.
BLUE PURE 511: THE BAD
Some users will be annoyed that there aren’t any extra benefits. The Blue Pure 511 isn’t like more expensive air filters in that it doesn’t have an air quality sign, sensors that change the setting based on air quality, or any way to set routines. However, it’s safe to say that the very low price reflects how simple it is.
Like some other users, we thought the Blue Pure 511 wasn’t as easy to use as it seemed at first. If you don’t pay close attention to the fan, it can be hard to tell what mode the filter is in when it first starts up. To change the setting, you must then press the power button. Even though part of the center dial lights up, it’s still not clear what mode you’re in. You have to keep pressing the power button and listening to the fan’s power to figure it out. It would be much better if each of the lights that show the modes had a better name.
BLUE PURE 511: USER REVIEWS
The Blue Pure 511 has a great average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars on Amazon, and nearly 75% of happy customers have given it a perfect 5 star review. A very small number of customers have given it less than three stars. They like how simple it is to use and how easy it is to set up and start using right away. Some users have said that it is very quiet when it’s working, with one saying, “I do like the quietness of the Blue Pure 511 especially when running at lower speeds.” People with pets say it seems to have cut down on dust and pet hair in their homes.
But some bad reviews say it’s hard to find the power switch because it “blends into its surroundings.” Also, some users are upset that there is no air quality sign, so they can’t tell if it’s working.
SHOULD YOU BUY THE BLUE PURE 511
The Blue Pure 511 is a cheap and easy-to-use air filter that would be great for anyone looking for one for their home. Don’t expect to be blown away by how well it works, though.
IF THE BLUE PURE 511 ISN’T FOR YOU
The Blue Pure 211+ might be the best choice for you if you like what Blueair does but want a bigger air filter with more features. It covers up to 600 square feet and works very well and is eco-friendly. This makes it a great choice for homes with bigger rooms or offices.
The Levoit H132 is thin and cheap, so it can fit on any desk or shelf. It’s the perfect air filter for someone who wants to try one for the first time at home. This air filter might work for you if you live in a small apartment or only want to use it in one room.
The Sensibo Pure is another cheap air filter with a sleek, neutral look that will go with any home decor. It’s easy and handy to use, and you can control it from afar with the Sensibo app. This lets you change settings, see real-time air quality readings, and get alerts and information about the air quality in your home.
