Save Video Frame function on Chrome: Our observations
Before using the Save Video Frame option in Google Chrome, bear the following in mind:
- Google Photos and YouTube both support the Save Video Frame function. We looked for the same option on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Netflix, and other websites that broadcast videos, but we couldn’t find it. Regarding support for more services and applications, Google has not released any details.
- Increase the resolution before choosing the Save Video Frame option if you want the highest quality picture possible from a video. For instance, the software saved a picture at 300 KB when we exported a frame from a 480p movie. After exporting it once again at 4K resolution—the highest possible video quality—the total picture size was around 2.8 megabytes.
- In our tests, the functionality performed as anticipated on Vivaldi and Microsoft Edge. The procedures are
- still as stated above. Because Safari isn’t Chromium-based, it can’t do the same.
- The mobile and tablet applications for Chrome do not include the Save Video Frame capability.
Capture high-resolution video stills
The next time you see a useful still in a YouTube video, utilize the built-in tool in Chrome rather than your favorite extension or the system-level snapshot tool by default. The Chrome browser offers helpful features to improve your surfing experience in addition to these add-ons. For the best advice and techniques on the most widely used desktop browser, see our guide.
