This is what iOS 17.3 does for your iPhone
Protection for Stolen Devices
Stolen Device Protection was added to your iPhone with iOS 17.3. Its goal is to help keep you and your info safe.
David Lumb of CNET says that Stolen Device Protection makes you enter your facial identity, such as Face ID and Touch ID, more than once in order to get to some of your private settings and data, such as your Apple ID password. If you try to change these settings, this feature will use a new method called Security Delay.
Stolen Device Protection will make you enter your personal information, like a palm or face scan, twice; the first time when you try to change these settings and again an hour later if you’re not in a known place, like your home. It’s not enough for Stolen Device Protection to keep some settings safe; you still need to protect other things, like your social media accounts. You don’t have to use this protection tool, but Apple suggests that you do.
New background with Unity Bloom
In honor of Black History Month, iOS 17.3 gave all iPhones a new background picture called Unity Bloom. Apple says that the wallpaper shows a shape of flowers that will turn color when the screen is on.
Now you can make mixes together on Apple Music
With iOS 17.3, Apple Music users could now make mixes together. This tool lets more than one person change and manage shared sets on the music streaming service. One more thing you can do is respond to a song in a shared playlist with an image. So you can tell someone right away if a song on the playlist you like or dislike.
Apple stated that Apple Music users can work together to make mixes at WWDC 2023 in June. In some test copies of iOS 17.2, the feature was there, but it wasn’t in the final version of the update.

About This Change
Protection for Stolen Devices
Stolen Device Protection makes the iPhone and Apple ID safer by making it necessary to use Face ID or Touch ID to do some things instead of a PIN.
Before security-sensitive tasks like changing the Apple ID or device PIN can be done, you have to use Face ID or Touch ID, wait an hour, and then successfully use another biometric authentication.
Screen Lock
In honor of Black History Month, a new Unity wallpaper celebrates Black history and culture.
Playing music
You can add friends to your playlist and let them change the songs’ order and add new ones with Collaborate on playlists.
You can add emoji responses to any song in a group mix.
The following changes have also been made to this update:
If your hotel supports AirPlay, you can stream material straight to your TV in your room.
You can see your coverage for all of your devices that are signed in with your Apple ID in Settings > AppleCare & Warranty.
