‘Baby Driver’ (2017)

‘One Piece Film: Red’ (2022)

When it comes to the expansive “One Piece” property, I have to admit that I am not even close to being an expert. However, judging by the critical and commercial acclaim to “One Piece Film: Red,” it is very obvious that it is a feature-length animation of genuine excellence. However, given that it is the fifteenth (yes, fifteen!) installment in the “One Piece” series, it is definitely not the best place for newbies to begin.

The Straw Hat Pirates go on a journey to the island of Eleia in order to attend a performance by Uta, a well-known singer who is infamous for concealing her identity while she is playing. “One Piece Film: Red” is a combination of action-fantasy adventure and toe-tapping musical. When Uta makes the announcement that she would unveil herself to the public at her most recent performance, however, excitement begins to rise. However, it turns out that this announcement is simply a cover for a much more surprising plot. Again, it is up to Luffy and the other members of his crew to come to the rescue and save the day.

‘King Richard’ (2021)

It may be argued that “King Richard” is more of a performance than a movie that is gratifying as a whole, but what a performance from the experienced actor! The film that earned Will Smith his Academy Award is “King Richard,” but let’s not speak about his deeds on that specific night. The unwavering commitment that Smith displays in his portrayal of Richard Williams, the father of tennis greats Serena and Venus, is quite remarkable.

Although “King Richard” is a pretty typical sports biopic, it provides an insightful look into the life of the father who inspired two young daughters to become two of the best tennis players in the history of the sport. However, despite the fact that Richard was a coach who was able to shape his daughters into athletic superstars, he was also a very flawed guy, and the film does not shy away from exploring the more negative aspects of the larger-than-life figure. Despite the fact that “King Richard” is not the most innovative sports biography, it is nonetheless worth seeing all the way through to its rewarding finish because of the towering performance that Smith gives.
