How to resize an image on Windows 11
Our preference for Windows 11 PCs is to utilize the built-in Photos program. To resize a picture in Windows 11 Photos, follow these steps:
- Step 1: Right-click on the image and select Open with followed by Photos.
- Step 2: Select the Three dots icon located in the app’s top-right corner.
- Step 3: Select Resize on the drop-down menu.
- Step 4: A pop-up window appears. Select one of the three preset sizes (shown on the left). Otherwise, choose Define custom dimensions for a specific size. Another pop-up window appears (shown on the right).
- Step 5: To keep the aspect ratio, select the box next to Maintain aspect ratio.
- Step 6: Select the purple Save resized copy button.
The other box will instantly change its number in proportion to the one you just entered as soon as you type a number into one of the boxes. Don’t select the box and enter the figures in both boxes if the aspect ratio is irrelevant.
How to resize an image on macOS
Preview may be used on macOS to adjust the size of photos. That’s what to do, exactly:
- Step 1: Right-click on the image and select Open. If Preview is not your default image viewer, select Open with followed by Preview instead.
- Step 2: Select Tools on the menu bar.
- Step 3: Select Adjust size on the drop-down menu.
- Step 4: Input the dimensions of width and height. It could be necessary to change the size type, as seen above, going from inches to pixels. As an alternative, you may click the arrows next to Fit into to choose a predetermined size.
- Step 5: Select the blue OK button to confirm the new size.
- Step 6: To save the resized image, select File on the menu bar.
- Step 7: Select Save.
How to resize an image on ChromeOS
To resize photos, utilize the Gallery image viewer app on ChromeOS. Follow these instructions to resize photos using Gallery:
- Step 1: From the pop-up menu, right-click on the picture and choose “Open with Gallery.” Alternatively, choose Open with and then Gallery if Gallery isn’t your default picture viewer.
- Step 2: Click the top-most Rescale button.
- Step 3: Input the height and width. If necessary, choose the Chain symbol to unlock the aspect ratio.
Choose the blue “Save” button in step four. Alternatively, if you would rather not change the original picture, pick the blue Down arrow and select Save.
How to resize an image on Web (Pixlr X)
Pixlr X is a free online tool that lets you resize and do other basic image editing operations on your photos. To use Pixlr X to resize a picture, follow these:
- steps 1:First, go to Pixlr X.
- Step 2: Click the blue icon labeled “Open image.” Select the picture that needs editing.
- Step 3: Locate and click the Layout and Template button. It seems to be a trio of rectangles.
- Step 4: Choose Smart resize from the Layout menu.
- Step 5: Enter your desired width and height dimensions, lock or unlock the aspect ratio using the Lock proportions option, or choose from a range of size presets on the Smart resize screen that displays.
- Step 6: Click the blue Apply button after making all the necessary adjustments.
- Step 7: Locate and click the blue “Save” button at the bottom.
- Step 8: Type in the file name, choose the format you want, and make any necessary quality adjustments. Click the blue Save button when everything is just the way you want it.
You should save your altered picture to your Downloads folder. Three free saves are allotted each day.
