Summary
settings for Apple Vision Pro.. The Apple Vision Pro, the company’s first spatial computer, offers a whole new way to interact with and operate the correspondingly novel interface.
Whether you just purchased an Apple Vision Pro or are considering purchasing one, it’s a good idea to set aside some time to learn how to utilize some of the headset’s basic and hidden capabilities. For instance, did you know that the Vision Pro may be mirrored on an iPad or iPhone? It is both feasible and quite simple.
Even after a month of everyday usage, I’ll guide you through nine key tips and tactics that I find myself employing often below.
1. Refocus your perspective
Alternatively, you may use this to bring every window open into the same space.
You may long-press the Digital Crown for a few seconds until your applications are centered in front of you if you ever feel like the headset isn’t centering new windows and apps inside your field of vision. It’s a simple function, but it’s easy to forget about, particularly if you become annoyed when your windows aren’t where you thought they would be or are difficult to find.
Additionally, I often use this function to go from my office to my living room or vice versa. It’s a fast and simple method to bring all of your open applications into the place you’re in.
2.How to use Apple Vision Pro to snap a screenshot
It’s simple but difficult.
Similar to taking a screenshot on an iPhone or iPad, taking one on the Vision Pro involves pressing two buttons simultaneously. It’s also very simple to learn which buttons to hit since the headset itself simply has two physical buttons.
Press the Digital Crown and the Top Button simultaneously to snap a screenshot. The moment you quickly and simultaneously push both buttons, a camera shutter will sound to notify you that the screenshot has been taken.
As an alternative, you may say “Siri/Hey Siri, take a screenshot” to prompt Siri to do so. A moment later, you’ll hear the identical shutter sound as soon as the screenshot is taken.
This is where it becomes tricky: you have to deliberately try to maintain your composure. I cannot even begin to count the number of times I have taken screenshots with the headset’s windows seeming level and straight, only to have them drastically skewed to the left or right in the image. Since upgrading to visionOS 1.1, I’ve had more success obtaining straight screenshots, however your mileage may vary.
3 .How to use Apple Vision Pro to capture your screen
Sometimes a tale is told better in a video.
With a few finger touches, you may record your screen image of what’s seen in the Apple Vision Pro in place of capturing a screenshot. stare up until you see a little circle with a down arrow, stare at it, and then press your fingers to activate a menu to begin recording your screen. The Control Center symbol, which resembles two switches piled on top of one another, should then be seen and chosen. Proceed to search for the Screen Recording icon, which is represented by two circles nested within each other. A countdown will begin to show you how long it will be before the screen recording begins.
You may activate or disable the microphone and choose which app to send the recording to if you long press (er, pinch?) the Screen Recording icon. These settings are identical to those on an iPhone.
4.How to modify the volume and enter environments
The secret is patience.
Using the Digital Crown located in the top-right corner of the headset is the simplest method to quickly change the volume or enter or exit one of the pre-installed scenarios. The moment you begin to rotate the crown, an environment-representing circular icon will appear in the center of your range of vision. To enhance or reduce the amount of immersion in your most recent setting, keep rotating the dial to the right or left. Entering and exiting Yosemite, the moon, and Mount Hood are all rather simple.
To change the headset’s volume, you may use the same technique, although it will take some time. You can see the environment symbol and a volume icon to the right of it if you slightly spin the Digital Crown. Make sure you gaze at the volume symbol for a sufficient amount of time so that it highlights. When the environment symbol decreases and the volume icon enlarges, you know it’s highlighted. You may now swivel the Digital Crown to change the volume.
Even after a month, I still have to actively remind myself to take my time and make sure I gaze at the volume symbol for a sufficient amount of time before turning the dial, but this is a far simpler process than entering Control Center and using the volume slider thereafter.
5 .Ways to Utilize Apple Vision Pro on Your Mac
It’s the best productivity tip ever.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the Vision Pro is looking at your MacBook and seeing the Connect button appear instantly above the screen. Your Mac’s screen will become black and a large floating window that essentially acts as an expanded virtual display of your Mac will emerge in front of you once you point at the icon and choose it. After that, you may interact with any Mac program using the keyboard and trackpad on your MacBook, or, if Handoff is enabled, you can use the trackpad and mouse to engage with Apple Vision Pro applications.
You will need to manually start the session if you have a Mac desktop. To do this, open Control Center by looking up at the little circle and tapping to open it. Next, choose the Control Center icon from the list of alternatives. Next, choose the MacBook symbol with a Vision Pro in front of it. Finally, choose your Mac.
To ensure that everything goes according to plan, confirm that you are logged into the Mac and headset with the same iCloud account, that iCloud Keychain is enabled on both devices, and that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are switched on on both devices.
Note that the Vision Pro can only display a single screen if you have several displays connected to your Mac.
6 How to reset the eye-tracking in Apple Vision Pro
It may have a significant impact in a matter of seconds.
Using your eyes to highlight or choose objects on the displays, you may then squeeze your finger and thumb to make the selection while navigating the Vision Pro. It works without any problems most of the time. In my use, there have been a few instances when the eye-tracking accuracy isn’t perfect, however. Fortunately, the eye-tracking of the headset can be adjusted again in less than a few minutes.
Pressing the headset’s Top Button four times in a row is the fastest method to begin the procedure. If, like me, you don’t have optical inserts, choose the top option, “Using without Optical Inserts,” when a dialog (seen above) asks you to authenticate your inserts. Choose Pair New Optical Inserts if not.
As an alternative, you may say “Siri/Hey Siri set up eyes” to ask Siri to start the procedure.
7. Methods for Mirroring Your Apple Vision Pro on an Apple TV, Mac, and iPhone
It’s simple to share what you can see.
The fact that no one else can see what you’re looking at makes using Vision Pro either one of the worst or the greatest, depending on your point of view. I was writing this same blog with my window open, watching the Colorado Avalanche game, while sporting Apple’s headset. My kid came running into the room asking to see a replay as I was celebrating the Avs’ victory. But he was unable to. This suggestion demonstrates how exclusive the Vision Pro experience is, even if it won’t be helpful in that particular scenario.
Therefore, you may mirror your Vision Pro to another Apple device if you want to share the experience with someone, either to help them through a demo or to just show off how awesome the Vision Pro is.
There is no extra setup needed to reflect your headset to an Apple TV; however, it will take a few more seconds to verify your device’s settings if you want to project or mirror the screen to your iPad or Mac.
Go to System Preferences > General > AirDrop & Handoff on your Mac, then choose AirPlay Receiver.
To enable AirPlay Receiver on an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > AirDrop & Handoff.
To mirror your screen to another device via AirPlay on your Vision Pro, first glance up at the circle with the down arrow. Then, click the Control Center symbol. Next, click the Mirror My View icon, which has two windows stacked on top of each other.
8 .Ways to stop programs abruptly on Apple Vision Pro
For unreliable software, or merely to make space on the disk
You may forcibly close any open applications if there’s an app that’s simply not functioning properly or if the headset seems unresponsive overall. For a few seconds, hold down the Digital Crown and Top buttons until the Force Quit window appears. You’ll probably be shocked to realize that the list of open programs is far larger than the ones you’re presently using when you browse through it. After choosing an app, click the Force Quit option.
9 Ways to turn off and restart Apple Vision Pro by force
To switch off the headset, you don’t need to unplug the power line.
I don’t usually switch off the Apple Vision Pro by just unplugging the power line. Instead, I use another method. I might be old school, but it seems like there would be issues if a computer’s power was suddenly disconnected. Instead, I use the integrated menu to switch off the Vision Pro. Hold down the Top button and Digital Crown until you see a slider that looks like it belongs on an iPhone or iPad to enter that menu. The displays of the Vision Pro will become black as you move the slider across, much like on other Apple products.
You may force restart the Vision Pro if it is not responding by unplugging the power or by pressing and holding the Top button and Digital Crown simultaneously until the screen turns dark and the Apple logo appears.
