Google Sheets.. Google Sheets is undoubtedly among the greatest spreadsheet applications available right now, and the company goes above and beyond to maintain its reputation in the market. Smooth online scrolling was described as a “highly-requested” feature for sheets on the Workspace blog earlier this month. Though it’s not yet accessible on all accounts, this function is already appearing more widely on many continents.
Put simply, smooth scrolling eliminates the need for users to move between individual cells while scrolling across a spreadsheet. This is a somewhat subtle distinction that may easily be missed. Its introduction was first noticed by our Google Editor Manuel Vonau, and many other members of the Android Police team have also experienced seamless scrolling in Sheets.
Google said last week that seamless scrolling will operate with all of Sheets’ features, even when use the on-screen scrollbars in place of a mouse or touchpad. It ought should function with other Sheets features as well, such as hidden columns, frozen rows, comments, charts, and even a spreadsheet layout that is configured to read from right to left.
Even though this is just a little adjustment, it will undoubtedly improve Sheets’ use greatly. The differences are easily seen when side-by-side comparisons between smooth scrolling and the previous iteration of cell-to-cell scrolling are made.
According to Google’s wording, seamless scrolling will be enabled by default for all Sheets users and cannot be toggled. But offering a settings choice makes sense, particularly for settings and offices where cell-to-cell scrolling is still common. However, whether you like it or not, smooth scrolling will now be enabled on Sheets.
My Workspace account has smooth scrolling enabled, but my personal Google account does not. The inconsistent presence of the functionality makes sense, given the previously mentioned Workspace blog article from last week said that it might take up to (or beyond) 15 days for the feature to be generally available across personal and Workspace accounts. Visit Sheets right now to see if you can experience smooth scrolling.
