Spider-Man 2: Coney Island’s Marvel Easter Eggs and References
Since its October release last year, 10 million copies of Spider-Man 2 have been sold. As part of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s major layoffs, speculation has already shifted to Insomniac’s potential future.
While Insomniac is working on a Wolverine game, it appears likely that the company will also produce a Marvel’s Spider-Man spinoff, perhaps centered around Venom, that will be akin to the immensely popular Miles Morales standalone in terms of scope. See how Insomniac has positioned the next installment in the series by reading tkgap Spider-Man 2 finale explained.
The Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack consists of:
Peter’s Fly Suit, Miles’ Fresh Suit, and 10 picture mode stickers

James Stevenson, Director of Community Management at Insomniac Games, said, “Working with Gameheads as part of our efforts to increase representation in the videogame industry is an important cause to us.” Ted Price, President of Insomniac Games, adds further information in this video:
We had a conversation about our partnership with Gameheads with Malia Atta, the Manager of Culture and Belonging at Insomniac, Damon Packwood, the Director of Gameheads, and Eric Monacelli, the Senior Director of Product and Franchise Development at Marvel Games.
What is Gameheads?
Damon Packwood: “We train students for the tech ecosystem, prepare them for college, careers, and civic life, and develop diverse talent and bold new voices in gaming.” We now serve minority and low-income students (ages 15–25) in 15 states, with plans to expand to Honolulu and Atlanta.
What is the origin of the Gameheads and Insomniac partnership?
Malia Atta: “Gameheads has been a longstanding collaborator of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), but our relationship with Insomniac Games started when we hired three apprentices for our departments of design, people experience, and core technology. We recognized a fantastic chance to promote and advance the Gameheads Mission by asking its artists to create the suits for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, since each apprentice made significant contributions to the game.
That sounds really great—what’s the goal?
Malia Atta: “By giving our teams the chance to coach, mentor, and develop up-and-coming talent, who then infuse new ideas and energy into our games and culture, the partnership benefits both Insomniac and Gameheads.” This collaboration also opens up the sector to additional individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Looking at things more broadly, Insomniac Games is committed to building a welcoming, energetic, and varied environment that represents our communities and players. Our current priorities include elevating and enhancing the voices of our developers and enabling them to contribute their own voices and skills to the process of creating games.
Eric Monacelli: “Through the characters in our video games, we at Insomniac creative collaborate to foster a world of belonging.” An example of this in action is the Gameheads initiative. Authentically reflecting the world outside one’s window has always been a core value of Marvel, particularly in ways that increase the accessibility, diversity, and inclusivity of Marvel narrative and creative activities.
What was the process like collaborating and iterating on the suit designs?
“We had a great time working with Bobby Hernandez, Johnson Truong, and Davison Carvalho (Insomniac artists),” said Damon Packwood. Over the summer, six of our students worked on variations of the costume and stickers. The procedure was quite expertly handled. After showcasing their artwork to the Insomniac team, our students underwent 1-2 week sprints, received comments, and after a few weeks, we decided on a design. We finalized the suit and the stickers in August after each student selected a different element of the costume (shoes, texture, mask, or web shooters) after the concept was accepted.
Tell us more about the final concepts for Fly N’ Fresh.
Damon Packwood: “A 90s b-boy served as the inspiration for Miles Morales’ Fresh Suit design.” Nineties television served as inspiration for Peter Parker’s Fly Suit design. The designer of the clothes, Marisa Diaz, was merely enjoying herself. It was really enjoyable to design, but we never thought Insomniac would enjoy it. The older individuals, including me and the Insomniac crew, enjoyed remembering our dress choices from the nineties while our designers enjoyed being goofy.

How to Start New Game Plus in Spiderman 2
There was no pop-up that explained how to use or even launch New Game Plus when we turned on our copy of Spider-Man 2. That being said, the pop-up will show up if you load a save file after finishing the tale and then go back to the main menu. Yes, you must complete Spider-Man 2’s main plot before attempting to get New Game Plus.
To activate Spider-Man 2’s New Game Plus, take these actions:
Move the cursor over the finished save file.
Press the DualSense controller’s Square button to create a fresh save file that you can preserve apart from your previous plays.
Select the difficulty level that you want.
All of your upgrades and suits will be used when you launch a new game.
You can start to unlock new styles for Peter’s Symbiote suits if you get past level 60.
For your gadgets, you can also unlock Golden styles.
Changing the time of day can be done through Settings > Gameplay > Time of Day, and it’s not just available with New Game Plus. The following settings are available for selection: Overcast, Default, Day, Night, Morning, Sunrise, Sunset, and Dusk.
Once the story is finished, players can revisit and relive their favorite parts of it with the help of Mission Replay. Even the questlines for The Flame and Cultural Museum, Prowler Stashes, FNSM App Requests, Side Stories, and EMF Experiments can be repeated.
