Spotify .. Access to every music video on YouTube Music has always been a major selling point, despite all of its early shortcomings. However, with Spotify’s most recent statement, this benefit may soon evaporate. The massive Swedish streaming service has revealed that it will begin releasing music videos in beta for a few specific titles and areas.
Spotify is handing out music videos to select premium users as of right now. The videos are accessible on all devices, including TV, PC, Android, and iOS. There are very few music videos available in this early trial period, including those by Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Ice Spice, Aluna, and Asake.
In the Now Playing display, supported titles will have a new “Switch to Video” choice that will launch the video from the beginning. However, returning to audio feels more natural. Want to go back to listening in the background? Spotify writes. Just hit “Switch to Audio.” The film may be seen in landscape mode, and there are buttons to go forward and backward at intervals of fifteen seconds.
Can I use Spotify for YouTube videos?
As of right now, only a few chosen areas in the UK, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Kenya are able to access music videos on Spotify. Even if you reside in one of these nations, it can still take some time to use your Premium account since it’s a phased rollout.
Spotify makes it clear that, during the beta, it may still make changes to the functionality in response to user and artist input. The firm says, “We might not have to wait too long for music videos to arrive in more regions,” as it wraps off its announcement: “Pay attention as we work to add additional music videos to the collection and make the service available to more people and nations.
There are more apps than Spotify and YouTube that provide music videos.
For a long time, music videos have been a common feature of various services.
Given its name and background, YouTube Music is closely associated with music videos, but it’s not the only music streaming service that has done so in the past. For instance, Tidal is a major service that offers a vast collection of music videos, much like Apple Music. Additionally, there are platforms like Vevo that are specifically focused on videos.
Spotify is therefore a bit of a latecomer to the party. It may nevertheless contribute to giving music videos even more importance than they currently have on other platforms since it’s the most widely used music streaming service.
Spotify is finally going to be integrated into Android’s media player, though we’re not sure when
