Human Mobile Devices, a business based in Finland, is rebranding itself as HMD, abandoning the Nokia name that it had previously used for all of its mobile devices, including smartphones.

The HMD Pulse, HMD Pulse+, HMD Pulse Pro, and the HMD Vibe are the first mobile devices to be branded with the HMD name. The aesthetics of all of the phones are similar, with a few splashy colors included in specific trims, and they are designed to appeal to consumers on a budget.
For instance, the HMD Vibe has a display that is 6.56 inches in size and has a refresh rate of 90 Hz. It also has a resolution of HD+. The Snapdragon 680 silicon from Qualcomm is the brains behind the operation, together with 4 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM) and 128 gigabytes of storage space. Particularly noteworthy is the presence of a microSD card slot that allows for storage expansion up to 512 gigabytes.
The construction is rated as IP52, which indicates that it can withstand a few splashes here and there at most times. An Android 14 operating system is a welcome software surprise for a phone with a low-end configuration like this one. A battery with a capacity of 4,000 mAh keeps the lights on and permits charging at 10 watts.
A camera with 13 megapixels is located on the back of the device, while a camera with 2 megapixels is responsible for depth mapping when taking portrait photos. The primary camera, which has a resolution of 5 megapixels, is used for taking selfies. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the only biometric authentication mechanism that can be used on this phone is face unlock.
It is now time to discuss the HMD pulse. A few modifications have been made to this one in comparison to the Vibe. These modifications include the use of a Unisoc T606 chipset, the reduction of the quantity of RAM to 4GB (a variant with 6GB is also available), and the enhancement of the battery capacity to 5,000mAh.
This one is equipped with a fingerprint sensor and a display that is more vivid. Atmos Blue, Dreamy Pink, and Meteor Black are the three color options that will be offered for the HMD Pulse. For a period of two years, it will get updates to the Android operating system, and for a period of three years, it will receive quarterly security patches.
Upgrades to the image hardware are also included in this one. The rear camera has two 13-megapixel sensors, one of which is capable of capturing images in night mode. On the other hand, the front-facing camera is equipped with an 8-megapixel sensor.
By increasing the amount of random access memory (RAM) to 8 gigabytes and placing a 50-megapixel sensor beneath the main camera, the HMD Pulse+ takes things to the next level. Glacier Green, Midnight Blue, and Apricot Crush are some of the colors that will be offered as a result of this innovative addition to the color possibilities.
Finally, we have the HMD Pulse Pro to present to you. The front-facing camera on this model has a resolution of 50 megapixels, and it has a fast charging speed of 20 watts. Twilight Purple, Black Ocean, and Glacier Green are the colored variations that are available.
The fact that these new phones are being sold at a very low price is, however, the most appealing aspect of them. If you are in the United States and acquire the HMD Vibe via Verizon or TracFone, you will just have to pay $39 for it. In addition, you can get your hands on an unlocked version for the low price of $145, which is a shockingly decent bargain considering the hardware.
While it is unfortunate that the Pulse series will not be available in the United States market, it is not unexpected that its sticker price in other countries is appealing. The HMD Pulse has a starting price of 139 euros, while the Plus version is 159 euros. The Pro model will cost 179 euros in European countries. The basic price of the HMD Pulse is 139 euros.
