Summary
Hulu miniseries.. Searching for a miniseries on Hulu to watch in one sitting this weekend? You’re fortunate, then. One of the main draws of the well-known streaming service is undoubtedly the abundance of fantastic miniseries available on Hulu for binge-watching. Not convinced by me? “Shogun,” a Hulu miniseries, is perhaps the largest TV program on the globe at the moment.
Hulu miniseries
You can’t binge watch “Shogun” just yet, however, since there are still six episodes left. Alternatively, I’ve assembled a carefully considered selection of five Hulu miniseries that you can binge-watch over the course of a weekend. You could possibly even do one of them on Saturday and another on Sunday if you’re really ambitious.
These are my recommendations for the top Hulu miniseries to watch all at once this weekend. There are just too many to discuss in one post, so if you’re looking for more after reading this one, check out our earlier list for even more fantastic choices.
A Murder at the End of the World (2023)
- Genre: Psychological thriller
- Episodes: 7
- Rotten Tomatoes score: 88%
Starring in “A Murder at the End of the World” is Emma Corrin as hacker and amateur forensic scientist turned novelist Darby Hart. Nobody, not even the secretive tech magnate Andy Ronson (Clive Owen), knows why she has been invited to a conference in Iceland. However, she is unexpectedly forced to investigate the one case she thought she would never have to when a visitor passes away at the peak.
When this program first aired on Hulu, I thought it was fantastic, and it eventually made my list of the best 10 series for 2023. The perfect blend of comedy, terror, and tension made it seem like a darker version of “Knives Out.” And as the season went on, the comedy and terror began to fade, allowing the program to stand alone as a gripping thriller. Still, it mostly stuck to that formula for success.
‘National Treasure’ (2016)
- Genre: Drama
- Episodes: 4
- Rotten Tomatoes score: 100%
There is no Nicolas Cage in this scenario, and the Declaration of Independence does not include a map on the reverse, despite its name. In actuality, “National Treasure” isn’t enjoyable at all, even if it stars the amazing Robbie Coltrane as quiz show presenter Paul Finchley, a once beloved comic.
By all accounts, however, this show is a spectacular one. The Channel 4 drama in Britain centers on Finchley, who is unceremoniously accused of having raped many young women in the past. It is partially based on the actual Operation Yewtree, which was the Metropolitan Police’s investigation into claims of sexual assault made by TV host Jimmy Savile. At the 2017 British Academy Television Awards, Coltrane and the program were both nominated, and the four-part miniseries won Best Mini-series.
‘The Clearing’ (2023)
- Genre: Psychological thriller
- Episodes: 8
- Rotten Tomatoes score: 90%.
Starring in “The Clearing” are Miranda Otto as Adrienne Beaufort and Teresa Palmer as Freya Heywood. J.P. Pomare’s novel “In the Clearing,” which is partially based on the Australian cult group The Family, is the basis for the miniseries. Anne Hamilton-Byrne, a self-declared reincarnation of Jesus, was the leader of that cult and was charged with adopting children into the organization without authorization.
In this version of the true incident, Freya, a single mother battling her own issues, is frightened when she learns that eight-year-old Sara (Lily LaTorre) has been kidnapped and sent to Blackmarsh, a property that Adrienne and her cult own. According to all reports, the eight episodes of this miniseries are just as scary as the really unsettling teaser.
‘The Dropout’ (2022)
- Genre: Biographical drama
- Episodes: 8
- Rotten Tomatoes score: 90%
Elizabeth Holmes led the $9 billion biotech startup Theranos in 2015, which made its breakthrough blood test technology possible. Despite never finishing college, she had accumulated a billion-dollar wealth, contracts with some of the largest healthcare corporations, and a highly regarded board of directors that saw her as a visionary. After then, everything collapsed.
Adapted from the ABC podcast, “The Dropout” follows Holmes’s ascent and decline along with Theranos, delving further into her reasons for participating in what has come to be regarded as one of the largest scams in contemporary American history. The ensemble of this miniseries is amazing, with a talented cast that includes Sam Waterston, Laurie Metcalf, William H. Macy, Naveen Andrews, and Stephen Fry, but it’s Amanda Seyfried’s Emmy-winning performance that really steals the show.
‘The Patient’ (2022)
- Genre: Psychological thriller
- Episodes: 10
- Rotten Tomatoes score: 89%
Steve Carell plays therapist Alan Stauss, who just lost his wife and is not close to his son Ezra (Andrew Leeds). So, not everything is going as planned. However, when he is taken prisoner by new patient Sam Fortner (Domhnall Gleeson), who also happens to be a serial murderer, things become much worse. Since Sam works as a restaurant inspector throughout the day when he’s not murdering people, at least Alan is receiving quality meals.
Even if the synopsis of “The Patient” seems a little strange, the ensuing psychological suspenseful film is well worth seeing. Carell and Gleeson were nominated for many awards for their performances, while the program itself was nominated for a Peabody Award.https://www.tkgap.com/three-science-fiction-films-march-on-hulu/
