WhatsApp’s Favorites filter.. With each new update, WhatsApp continues to enhance the user experience, and beta versions of the app provide us with a decent sense of what to anticipate from further releases of the service. All, Unread, and Groups are the three filters that are presently available by default on the main Chats page of WhatsApp.
On the other hand, over the course of the last several months, we have come across indications that a new Favorites filter is finding its way to the Chats page, beginning with WhatsApp Web. There is a growing indication that the developers are getting closer to implementing this feature on the Android version of the application.
WhatsApp’s Favorites filter
With WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.9.33, the analysts at WABetaInfo discovered this Favorites filter in the Chats page of the application. Despite the fact that I personally sideloaded this particular version of the application via APKMirror, I was still unable to duplicate it. Based on the information provided by WABetaInfo, this should not come as a surprise since the functionality is not yet available for all beta testers.
The new Favorites filter is located just between the Unread and Groups filters, as can be seen in the image above. When you scroll up in the Chats page, these filters will automatically show. For a short period of time, WhatsApp was doing tests on a specific part under the Settings menu that would allow users to add, reorganize, or delete individuals from their Favorites list. The next natural step for the messaging app is the addition of this new Favorites filter, which can be found on the Chats tab.
There is also the development of a specialized dialer
It was earlier this week that a beta version of WhatsApp was made available to the public. In addition to the Favorites filter that is located in the Chats page, we have also discovered another potentially helpful update to WhatsApp. An in-app dialer that allows users to call WhatsApp numbers straight from inside the app is something that the messaging app that is owned by Meta is planning to implement.
The mechanism that is now in place is not at all smooth; in order to make a voice or video conversation, users are required to either manually add a contact via the application or utilize the standard dialer software on their phone. While the specifics of this in-app dialer are presently being kept under wraps, we anticipate that it will be a game-changer since it will finally enable users to call their fellow WhatsApp users without first requiring them to save their contact information via the app.
